Planning a family trip to Turkey can feel overwhelming. With so many tour operators and itineraries to choose from, it’s hard to know which option will be genuinely family-friendly, especially if you’re traveling with young children and need a triple room. After extensive research, we decided to book our trip with City of Sultans via TourRadar, and here’s our honest review of the booking experience, customer service, and overall value.

Why We Chose TourRadar & City of Sultans

After extensive research, we decided to book our trip with City of Sultans via TourRadar, and here’s our honest review of the booking experience, customer service, and overall value. The Booking Experience

We ultimately chose the 10 Days Discover Turkey Tour *Best Highlights tour because it included internal flight transfers, which meant we avoided long bus journeys — a huge advantage with a young child. You can see our review of this tour itself in this post: 👉 The Ultimate Family Itinerary for Turkey (10–14 Days)

Some highlights of the booking process:

  • We requested a triple room, which wasn’t listed in the standard booking. City of Sultans arranged it for us, and it was slightly cheaper than expected.

  • We decided to extend our trip in Turkey with a few days at the beach. The operators adjusted our itinerary to remove the last hotel and applied a discount.

  • Pre-travel communication was excellent. City of Sultans contacted us via WhatsApp with all the arrival details and remained available throughout the trip for our many questions.

Booking through TourRadar was straightforward and gave us peace of mind that everything was organised for our family.

What was included in the Tour?

We booked the 10-Day Wonders of Turkey Tour, which included 4-star accommodation, internal flights with 15kg checked luggage and 8kg carry-on, English-speaking guides, 9 breakfasts, 4 lunches during city tours, and all transfers in air-conditioned vehicles. Admission fees and optional experiences like the hot air balloon ride were not included. The itinerary also left plenty of free time to add your own activities — we took advantage of this on several occasions, and I’ve highlighted those moments throughout.

Customer Service That Goes Above and Beyond

I would give both TourRadar and City of Sultans 100% for pre-travel customer service. The ability to communicate quickly via WhatsApp, get clear answers, and make adjustments to our bookings made the whole experience feel personal and reliable. For families, this level of support can make a big difference — especially when arranging things like:

  • Rooming for children or extended family

  • Adjusting itineraries for extra relaxation time

  • Clarifying age limits for activities like hot air balloon rides in Cappadocia or paragliding in Pamukkale

Our Verdict on Value and Family-Friendly Features

The tours themselves were well-organized, and the inclusion of internal flights made a huge difference compared to other Turkey tours we researched. For families, the biggest benefits of booking via TourRadar and City of Sultans included:

  • Ease of booking triple rooms — not all operators offer this

  • Flexible itinerary adjustments — perfect if you want extra time at a beach or fewer stops

  • Pre-travel support — peace of mind for parents traveling with children

While some of the hotels on the itinerary weren’t exactly what we would have picked ourselves, the convenience, communication, and family-friendly focus of the tour made it worth considering. One key lesson we learned: research the hotels in detail before you book. For example, a cave hotel in Cappadocia might sound magical on paper, but in reality, no windows or air conditioning in August is a big challenge when traveling with kids — we even had to borrow a fan from reception just to survive the heat! If we had known this, a simple conversation with the tour provider could have allowed us to choose a different hotel that better suited our needs. In fact, another couple on our tour did exactly that and stayed just up the road in a lovely, air-conditioned boutique hotel (we were very jealous!).
