If you're looking for an honest Hilton Dead Sea Resort review and wondering whether it's the best Dead Sea resort for families, this guide is for you.
Quick answer: Is the Hilton Dead Sea Resort Good for Families?
We thought the Hilton Dead Sea Resort was an excellent choice for families and one of our favourite hotels in Jordan. The biggest advantage is the resort's private Dead Sea beach access, which makes the whole experience much easier with children. You can float in the Dead Sea, wash off immediately, use the mud baths, and head straight back to the pool without any extra planning.
We stayed here as part of our Jordan family road trip with Joshua our 7 year old son and deliberately chose a beachfront resort after researching how to get the most out of a Dead Sea visit. That turned out to be the right decision.
In this review, I'll cover the beach, pools, food, kids club, location and whether the Hilton offers good value for families.

Why We Chose the Hilton Dead Sea Resort
Before booking, we spent a lot of time researching the best Dead Sea resort for families and kept coming back to the same piece of advice: choose a hotel with its own beach.
At first, it was tempting to book one of the cheaper hotels nearby. However, the more we researched, the more we realised that the whole Dead Sea experience becomes much easier if you have direct access to the beach, mud baths and freshwater showers. After floating in the Dead Sea, you'll want to wash off almost immediately, especially if anyone in your family has sensitive skin or eczema.
For us, that convenience alone justified spending slightly more.
The Hilton also stood out because it combined:
private Dead Sea beach access
multiple swimming pools
family-friendly facilities
free parking
breakfast available
a resort atmosphere rather than a simple hotel stay
Location and Dead Sea Beach Access
The biggest advantage of the Hilton Dead Sea Resort is its location directly on the shoreline of the Dead Sea. The hotel has private beach access, allowing guests to move easily between the beach, pools and hotel facilities.
This made a huge difference for us.
The beach is accessed via a short lift ride down from the main hotel, where you'll find:
sun loungers
towels
freshwater showers
mud bath facilities
easy Dead Sea access
What we quickly realised is that the Dead Sea itself isn't an all-day activity. Most people float for a while, take the obligatory photos and then head for the showers. Having those facilities right there makes the experience much more enjoyable with kids.

Pools and Facilities for Families
While we booked the hotel for the Dead Sea, we actually spent more time in the pools. The resort includes multiple outdoor pools, including family-friendly pools and children's facilities. Hilton also highlights a dedicated kids' pool among its family amenities.
The pool area had:
plenty of loungers
good levels of shade
pool service
lots of space for families
Joshua was perfectly happy spending hours moving between the pool and beach. Looking back, I think that's one of the biggest misconceptions about visiting the Dead Sea with kids. You imagine the sea will be the main attraction, but in reality the pool and resort facilities often become just as important.

Is the Kids Club Worth Using?
The Hilton offers family-focused amenities and children's facilities designed for kids. Joshua did try the kids club during our stay, but it wasn't quite the hit we'd hoped for.
There simply weren't many English-speaking children there during our visit. He's a very social character and tends to enjoy kids clubs most when he quickly finds someone to play with. After a short time, he decided he'd rather come back out and spend time at the pool with us.
That said, I can see it being useful for younger children or visits during busier family holiday periods and the facilities were good.
Food, Breakfast and Restaurants
Food was another pleasant surprise. Breakfast was included in our rate, which made family mornings much easier, and we found the quality consistently good throughout the stay. The resort has multiple restaurants covering international and regional cuisine.
What we liked most was that:
food was easy
prices felt reasonable
we didn't need to leave the resort
By this stage of the trip, that convenience was worth a lot. After travelling around Jordan, having everything accessible on-site made the stay feel genuinely relaxing.

Is Hilton Dead Sea Resort Worth the Extra Cost?
This is probably the question most families are really asking. Could you stay somewhere cheaper? Yes. Would I? Probably not.
Once you factor in:
private beach access
mud bath facilities
freshwater showers
multiple pools
included breakfast
family facilities
easy parking
the Hilton starts to look like good value overall.
For us, it struck the right balance between comfort and practicality. It wasn't the cheapest hotel we looked at, but it removed almost all of the logistical hassle from visiting the Dead Sea with children.

How This Fits Into a Jordan Family Itinerary
The Dead Sea works best as a relaxing stop between Amman and Petra. That's exactly how we used it.
After arriving in Jordan, the Hilton gave us a chance to:
settle into the trip
enjoy the Dead Sea
relax by the pool
recover from travel
before moving on to Petra and Wadi Rum.

What We Liked Most
For our family, the highlights were:
direct access to the Dead Sea
easy beach facilities
multiple pools
family-friendly atmosphere
included breakfast
free parking
not needing to leave the resort
Most importantly, it made the Dead Sea feel easy. And with kids, that's often more valuable than luxury.
