Tajview Agra Review: Location, Rooms, Pool & Why It Works So Well for Families

When we planned our Golden Triangle family trip through Delhi, Agra and Jaipur, choosing the right hotel in Agra felt especially important. Visiting the Taj Mahal at sunrise was high on our list, and with kids in tow we wanted somewhere comfortable, calm, and close enough that we wouldn’t be battling traffic at 5am.

Tajview Agra caught our eye straight away — the promise of Taj Mahal views, spacious grounds, and family-friendly facilities sounded perfect. We’d also built up some Hotels.com credit, so we decided to treat ourselves and upgrade to a SeleQtions Suite for a little extra space.

It turned out to be one of the best decisions of the trip.

Here’s our honest family review of Tajview Agra — including what we loved, what to know before booking, and tips to help you decide if it’s the right fit for your own India adventure.

Location & First Impressions

One of the biggest draws of Tajview Agra is its location. The hotel sits on Fatehabad Road, within easy walking distance to the Taj Mahal (about 7–10 minutes on foot), which makes it ideal for families prioritising proximity to the Taj without the ultra‑premium price tag of hotels right across from the monument.

The surroundings feel peaceful yet central, and the hotel is set across landscaped gardens and lawns, adding a relaxed vibe that’s great for kids to roam around safely.

Rooms & Comfort

We stayed in an upgraded SeleQtions Suite, which comfortably accommodated our family of three adults and one child. The suite had a king bed and plenty of space, though note that standard rolls or extra beds for children are usually available at a supplementary cost approx. £20 per night (we chose to bring our own travel bed to save on charges).

The hotel included breakfast each morning, and water was supplied consistently in our rooms, making staying hydrated in Agra’s warmth much easier.

A delightful surprise was the chocolate Taj Mahal replica and fruit bowl waiting for us on arrival – a fun touch that made our kids smile even before we’d unpacked.

Family‑Friendly Facilities

One of our favourite things about Tajview was its mix of relaxation and leisure facilities:

  • Large outdoor pool — Perfect for a leisurely swim after sightseeing (kids especially loved this).

  • Small jacuzzi and children’s pool — Useful for younger kids to splash around.

  • Sunbeds and lounging area — Great for parents to unwind while children play.

  • Gym — Compact but functional for a workout between meals and tours.

  • Garden spaces for quiet strolls and early evening walks, included a small kids park.

The hotel also offers pick‑up and drop‑off services, which we found convenient for airport transfers and local sightseeing bookings.

Dining & Views

We enjoyed dining at the rooftop bar, which offers views of the Taj Mahal as the sun sets — a memorable backdrop for evening meals. The Indian food was excellent, and the ambience made it feel special. For our son, the pizza and milkshakes hit the spot, and having familiar options was great for keeping young appetites happy.

One night we opted for room service after a long day of touring. Curling up in the suite with dinner and a movie was one of those simple family memories you hope for on holiday.

Real Guest Feedback & Practical Tips

Guest feedback online supports many of the things we loved — particularly the location, comfortable and quiet rooms, the pool, and friendly staff. Many reviews praise the breakfast and rooftop dining experiences, and the hotel’s gardens and outdoor spaces regularly get compliments.

A few reviewers note that service can be inconsistent at times or that certain areas feel like they could do with a refresh — useful to know if you’re accustomed to ultra‑luxury stays.

Tips for families:

  • If you can, I do recommend booking a room with a Taj view — not all rooms have the same perspective.

  • Book rooftop dinners in advance if you want sunset or Taj views.

  • Pool and garden time make excellent recovery days between sightseeing outings.

For families, we highly recommend bringing your own compact rollaway bed for hotels like Tajview Agra, especially if you want to avoid paying extra for a child’s bed — it’s quick to set up, packs small, and works perfectly for kids under 10.

Final Thoughts: Would We Stay at Tajview Agra Again?

Absolutely — especially as a family.

Tajview hits that sweet spot between comfort, convenience and value, depending on what option you decide to go for. What it offers is important when travelling with kids: space to relax, a great pool, reliable breakfast, friendly staff, and a location that makes Taj Mahal visits effortless.

Being able to walk back after sightseeing (or a very short car ride!), cool off in the pool, and unwind in the gardens made our Agra stay feel like a holiday rather than a whirlwind stopover.

If you’re planning a family trip around the Golden Triangle and want somewhere comfortable, practical and still a little special, Tajview Agra is a fantastic choice. Book a Taj-view room if you can, build in some pool downtime, and you’ll have the perfect base for one of the most memorable stops in India.

It’s one of those hotels we’d happily return to — and that’s always the best recommendation of all.
