We stayed at Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Silivri toward the end of our Turkey trip, and it was one of those places that felt very different from the city hotels in Istanbul or the cave hotels in Cappadocia. If you’re thinking about adding a few chill days in the sun after sightseeing — especially with kids — here’s how our stay really went.
🌊 Location & First Impressions
The hotel sits just outside the town of Silivri on the Sea of Marmara, about a 15‑minute walk to the beach and easy to reach by taxi. It’s quieter than Istanbul, which was exactly what we needed after a busy tour filled with city walks, ruins, and early mornings ballooning in Cappadocia. The setting felt relaxed and a little holiday‑like — not buzzing, but perfect for downtime.
Check‑in was smooth and the lobby felt spacious and welcoming; there’s plenty of space for luggage, which was a nice practical touch as we were still dragging around all our Turkey gear from the rest of the trip.

🛌 Rooms & Comfort
Our room was clean, spacious and bright, when we researched this hotel before booking we noted that many guests mention good views of the garden or even glimpses of the sea – we had a nice view of the pool. The beds were comfortable, and for the most part we slept well — although we did hear the adhan (call to prayer) early in the morning from a nearby mosque, but we had got used to this having been in Turkey for nearly two weeks now.
It’s worth noting that, like many large hotels, some guests have reported issues with air conditioning, hot water timing, or pool temperatures — but everyone’s experience was slightly different, and our stay was perfectly fine from a comfort perspective.
🏊♂️ Pools, Spa & Family Fun
This was honestly the standout for families. Ramada Silivri has a big outdoor pool, smaller kids’ pools with slides, plus indoor pool access, gym and spa facilities — sauna, steam room, and massage options at extra cost if you want some adult downtime.
Joshua had so much fun in the water parks and slides, and we loved that we could float around poolside while keeping an eye on him. Multiple pools meant the space never felt too crowded even on a busy weekend. Some guests mentioned cold indoor pool water, but overall the kids’ areas were a hit and kept us there for hours — exactly what you want on a “rest” day after lots of sightseeing.

🍽 Food & Dining
Breakfast is a full buffet with warm dishes, fruit, pancakes, juice, and local flavours, we found there was plenty of variety first thing in the morning. The onboard restaurant also serves lunch and dinner with international and Turkish selections.
We tried both the buffet and the a la carte in the evenings which came at an additional cost. It’s not fancy food — think more simple and family‑friendly than gourmet. If you prefer the best local restaurants, a short taxi ride to Silivri town gives you a few more options. We opted to stay in the hotel to eat, there were limited options available walking distance. However there were local shops accessible on foot, they sold inflatables, snacks like crisps and ice creams and cold drinks (Mark even managed to pick up a couple of beers for the fridge which were difficult to find in Turkey).

👍 What Worked Well for Our Family
Pools + kids’ slides: Big winner — hours of entertainment without leaving the hotel.
Spa and indoor facilities: Perfect for a rest or a rainier day.
Spacious rooms + free parking: Really handy when you’ve got baggage and kids in tow.
Quieter location: After busy touring, the calm was a welcome change.
Access to local convenient stores
👎 What Was Less Great
Some reviews mention clunky Wi‑Fi and weak signal, which we didn’t personally struggle with too much but is worth knowing if you need strong connection for work or streaming.
The hotel is a bit removed from the town centre and nearest beaches, which means taxis or a car are handy for exploring.
Restaurants outside the hotel were very limited.
Our Takeaway: Good Family Base, Especially for Relaxation
If you’re coming off a jam‑packed Turkey family itinerary of cities, ancient ruins, and adventures like paragliding at Pamukkale — read about that 👉 We Took Our Kids Paragliding Over Pamukkale — Here’s What It Was Really Like — this hotel is perfect for slowing down, letting kids splash, and winding down the holiday.
The hotel was a comfortable, pool‑centric, family‑friendly stay with spa access and space for kids to play, it delivers great value. If your priority is relaxation after lots of activity, this is one of the nicer choices on the Marmara coast.
Would we stay again? Yes — especially for a few extra pool days after a big Turkey trip, but any longer I think you would run out of things to do
