Taj Devi Ratn Review: Location, Rooms, Pool & Why It Works So Well for Families
If you’re planning a family trip to Jaipur, one of the standout hotels that really jumped out at us during our research was the Taj Devi Ratn Resort & Spa, Jaipur. Located on mountain foothills, this resort offered an escape from the hustle and bustle of Jaipur city. It truly lived up to its reputation and was completely unique — especially for families looking for something a bit special. Whether you’re on a Golden Triangle family holiday with kids or seeking a relaxing retreat with amenities to keep everyone happy, this hotel has a lot to offer.

Arrival Impressions: Stunning Design and Warm Hospitality
From the moment we arrived, Taj Devi Ratn impressed. The architecture and vibrant colours of the reception area were eye‑catching and beautiful — a mix of traditional design and modern comfort. We were greeted with a refreshing welcome drink and a warm introduction from staff, who gave us an overview of all that the resort offers.
Rooms & Comfort: King Suite With Practical Family Setup
We stayed in a King Suite, and the space was perfect for our family. The suite was comfortable, clean, and felt like a quiet refuge after full days of sightseeing around Jaipur.
The hotel’s half‑board package (breakfast and dinner included) was a big plus, especially since the resort is a little outside the main tourist areas. This meant we could enjoy meals without planning logistics after long evenings.
Room tip: Up to two children aged 8 and under can stay free in the parents’ room using existing bedding. A roll‑out bed is available at around £28 per night, but as with many family travellers in Asia, we chose to bring our own travel rollaway bed — a space‑saving lifesaver for families! This made our stay more flexible and comfortable without extra charges.

Family‑Focused Facilities: Fun for All Ages
What makes Taj Devi Ratn Resort & Spa stand out is just how family‑friendly the facilities are. From the moment we unpacked, our son had things to do — and we did too!
Pool, Gym & Games
Large outdoor pool with plenty of sunbeds, shade and option to order drinks or food poolside — perfect for relaxing while the kids splash around.
Games room with a pool table, board games, and video gaming station — a huge hit with our son.
Gym area — small but modern and very well air‑conditioned, enough for a satisfying workout between meals.
The layout meant we could all enjoy our own preferred activities at the same time — I was in the gym, my husband by the pool with a cocktail, and our son cooling off in the games room. Score!
Unique Activities: Complimentary Family Fun
Another surprise bonus was the range of activities offered on site. Two were complimentary during our stay:
Sky Cycle
Imagine a bicycle on a secured wire, about 15–20 feet above the ground — that was Sky Cycle! It wasn’t like anything we’d done before, and watching our son zip across with a harness on both made us nervous and excited all at once. He ended the ride with a mini zip line back down — about half an hour of thrilling fun that he absolutely loved.
Paintball Target Practice
A fun, safe activity for kids that adds variety to a pool day and gets them moving and engaged.
There were other activities available too at extra cost, so you can choose extras to match your family’s interests.

Food & Dining: Delicious and Thoughtful
The food here was another highlight.
First night: We enjoyed a buffet dinner with lots of variety.
Second night: Because the hotel was quiet in April, dinner was offered a la carte — and just as delicious.
Our son preferred more familiar dishes (he had pasta and a milkshake, perfect for younger taste buds), while I happily tucked into flavourful Indian curries that were rich without being overwhelming.
Meals were relaxed, tasty, and family‑friendly — great for both adventurous eaters and those who prefer more familiar options.
Location & Travel Logistics
While the resort is set a bit away from the central buzz of Jaipur, it’s precisely this peaceful location in the foothills that makes it such a lovely retreat. If you’re after calm, green surroundings and a resort vibe, you’ll love it. There’s also a 24‑hour airport shuttle available — very handy when you’re travelling with kids and luggage.

Overall Verdict: A Family Favourite in Jaipur
Best for: Families with kids who want a resort experience with activities, space to play, and a relaxing atmosphere away from central Jaipur’s traffic and crowds.
The Taj Devi Ratn Resort & Spa exceeded our expectations in nearly every way. Between the pool, games room, unique activities, and great food, we genuinely felt like we found a home away from home during the Jaipur leg of our Golden Triangle adventure.
It was surprisingly quiet in April — which we loved — but if you prefer livelier surroundings, this hotel still works beautifully because of its facilities and friendly staff.
Highly recommended for families looking for comfort, fun activities for kids, and a peaceful stay in Jaipur.
