Planning a family trip to India’s Golden Triangle?

We organised our own 10-day Easter holiday itinerary, and from modern city hotels to historic charm and kid-friendly resorts, we’ve rounded up our favorite stays in Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur — each offering unique experiences, comfort, swimming pools, and little luxuries that make traveling with kids easier and more enjoyable.

1. Delhi: Maidens Hotel – Historic Charm in the Heart of the City

If you want a hotel that blends history with comfort, the Maidens Hotel, 7 Sham Nath Marg, Delhi, is a standout choice.

  • Why we chose it: Central location, historic feel, and excellent reviews for clean, quiet, family-friendly rooms.

  • Rooms & Amenities: Large rooms, welcome snack on arrival, water included, small gym, swimming pool, and breakfast. A sofa bed for our 8-year-old was provided free of charge, a rare find in India!

  • Dining: Nearby restaurants offer modern and local cuisine, including our favorite, Civiil Line Social, for relaxed meals.

  • Why families will love it: Large rooms, central location, pool, and the historic charm of Delhi in a safe, welcoming environment.

2. Delhi: Aloft Aerocity – Modern Comfort Close to the Airport

For families flying into or out of Delhi, Aloft, No5B, Aerocity is ideal for a short stay before or after a long flight.

· Location: Modern Aerocity district, close to the airport, and steps from Aerocity Mall.

  • Rooms & Amenities: Included continental breakfast, clean and practical, water included. On-site gym, pool table, and swimming pool entertained both adults and children. Rollaway beds are available at a cost, but we brought our own travel bed.

  • Dining & Exploration: Easy access to restaurants and food halls in Aerocity. Civil Lines Social was a favourite for casual dining.

  • Why families will love it: Quick airport access, kid-friendly games and pool, modern conveniences, and safe surroundings for a stress-free stay.

3. Agra: Tajview Agra – Steps from the Taj Mahal

When visiting Agra with kids, the Tajview Agra is one of the best options for families who want comfort and location.

  • Why we chose it: Walking distance to the Taj Mahal, rooftop bar, and family-friendly facilities.

  • Rooms & Amenities: Various room options available from doubles to suites. We upgraded to a suite which included complimentary chocolates shaped like the Taj Mahal and fruit were a delightful touch. Rollaway beds are available at a cost, but we brought our own travel bed.

  • Facilities: Large pool, small jacuzzi, children’s play area, and small gym. Ideal for relaxing days between sightseeing.

  • Dining: Rooftop dining with views of the Taj Mahal; kid-friendly menu options like pizza and milkshakes kept our son happy. Room service was convenient after long days touring.

Tip: Book a room with a Taj view to make the most of your stay.

In Jaipur, we stayed at the Taj Devi Ratn Resort & Spa, which was perfect for families seeking fun and relaxation in one place.

  1. Why we chose it: Nestled in the foothills of the Aravalli Hills, offering a peaceful retreat from the city.

  2. Rooms & Amenities: King Suite with half-board (breakfast & dinner). Up to two children under 8 stay free using existing bedding; rollaway beds available for £28 per night. Gym, pool, and games room including pool table, board games, and video games kept everyone happy.

Tips for Families Traveling the Golden Triangle

  • Bring a travel rollaway bed and small pump: Many hotels charge extra for children’s beds; a small portable bed is a game-changer.

  • Pool days are essential: After long sightseeing days, allow time to relax.

  • Book rooftop or Taj-view rooms in Agra for memorable family photos.

  • Half-board packages save time for meals, especially in hotels slightly outside city centres.
